More and more energy companies are operating offshore. Far off the coast and for several years, engineers and specialists set up wind energy plants, rigs and new infrastructure. Due to the increasing demand for offshore accommodation, ELA founded the specialised subsidiary. ELA Container managing director Günter Albers and ELA Container former quality manager Hans Gatzemeier are responsible as board of directors of the new established company, ELA Container Offshore GmbH.
ELA Container has already gained diverse offshore experience within several offshore projects. According to Günter Albers, the outsourcing of ELA’s offshore department was a logical consequence and a strategically important step: "ELA Container Offshore GmbH is participating in an emerging market, with special requirements for our products, assembling and logistics." With the new subsidiary, ELA will be able to response to the special requirements of customers from the wind, oil and gas industries.
Hans Gatzemeier said: "ELA’s offshore containers can be used on ships, rigs, transformer platforms and all kinds of seagoing vessels, pontoons and barges. They differ from standard units by a special coating adapted to the weather conditions at sea and by higher safety standards, service life, functionality and comfort." All ELA offshore modules are "Made in Germany" and posses the DNV 2.7-1 / EN 12079-1, DNV 2.7-2 and CSC certificate.
The 20ft ISO offshore containers are small, lightweight, easy to handle, equipped efficiently and adaptable to all customer-specific requirements. ELA provides its standard units as living quarters, offices, dining rooms, galleys, laundries, recreation or locker rooms, drying containers and all kinds of carrying units. In terms of space efficiency, all ELA offshore containers can be stacked four times, including the stairway container and gangways. Therefore, limited space can be used most efficiently.
ELA offshore containers are fully equipped for the corresponding purpose and ready for use immediately after assembly. Besides the A60 insulation and exterior doors with fire protection, which ensure high safety, the electrical installation for offshore use and the integrated ventilation system ensure a pleasant, safe and healthy atmosphere.
Depending on customer requirements, all ELA offshore containers are available for sale and rent. All containers are available immediately and ready for use.
