The original Masto Wireservice was founded in Kristiansand, Norway, due to first-hand experience of accidents, caused by internal corrosion and friction. The company invented the world's most effective lubricator, helping to solve a 150-year-old problem.
Over the years, many industries have discovered that lubricating ropes with the aid of brushes, rags and gloves can prove to be costly, risky and generally ineffective, which is why the company invented its products.
Lubricant can form a water vapour penetrable film on the surface and become trapped. Alternating temperatures mean that condensation appears, which in turn can create rust forming from the inside. Although a rope can appear to be in working condition, internal friction and corrosion are destroying it.
The patented Masto Lubricator penetrates and cleans under high-pressures and works on even the most compressed styles of wire rope, such as non-rotating, dyform and locked coil with heavy grade lubricant, and other special ropes for diving, remotely operated vehicles (ROV) and seismic operations, as well as umbilical cables. Masto lubricates all rope and wire diameters, up to 130mm.
Even wire ropes subjected to the most severe surface wear can be given a longer life when lubricated with the Masto. Stainless steel, galvanised and other styles of wire rope, require just as much lubrication because friction and corrosion can occur.
The Masto Lubricator could not be simpler to use. Seals are fitted around the rope and clamped in placed by the two halves of the lubricating chamber. The unit is anchored by two chains to a convenient, stationary object. The pump is started and the wire rope is pulled through the lubricator.
The patented Masto shaft seal was developed because Masto Wireservice felt that many of the existing shaft seals were not good enough. Regular shaft seals would often have a short life-span, which resulted in dust leakage and severe deterioration on shaft and bearings.
Masto shaft seals can be used on slower shafts and AE screw conveyors, and for preventing leakages of difficult materials, such as silica carbide, silica powder, fine stone dust, as well as other abrasive materials.
There are many advantages when you use Masto shaft seals, including:
