Sealing technology with Multidiameter™

Roxtec was founded in Sweden in 1990 with the invention of Multidiameter, a flexible solution based on sealing modules with removable layers. It revolutionized the complicated process of cable and pipe installation, allowing designers and users to perform their tasks without knowing the size or number of cables in advance.

The technology enables the sealing of cables and pipes of various sizes and materials, which minimizes the need for different parts and reduces installation time. It makes planning easier and simplifies the work of designers and installers.

Cable and pipe sealing system

The Roxtec sealing system is a modular-based mechanical sealing solution. It is available for various applications – and for multiple as well as single pipe penetrations. With six basic sealing blocks, it is possible to seal cables and pipes from 4mm to 99mm in diameter.

The sealing modules are inserted around the cables or pipes in frames that are either welded or bolted into the structure. The frames are available in different shapes, materials and sizes for different applications. The system is then sealed with a compression unit, a Roxtec wedge, tightly compressing the modules.

The Roxtec sealing system is used to seal all types of penetrating cables and pipes passing through walls and floors on platforms as well as bulkheads and decks on other offshore units. The seals are used between different sections and constructions, such as machine rooms, storage rooms, living compartments and the bridge. They are also used in various types of cabinets and enclosures. The sealing system is designed to withstand very tough conditions.

Sealing system with fire, jet-fire, water and gas-pressure protection

Roxtec seals ensure protection against fire, jet-fire, water and gas pressure or explosions as well as electro-magnetic interference. The system is well suited to seal hydraulic pipes, since the rubber absorbs vibrations and reduces noise.

Roxtec products are tested and approved for use in A class and H class-rated sections according to IMO Res. A.754 (18) and SOLAS. Roxtec products are certified by a wide range of classification societies such as Lloyd’s, ABS, Bureau Veritas and DNV.
