You can meet Jotron at SMM, Hamburg, Germany, 9-12 September and at Rio Oil & Gas, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 15-18 September.

Jotron, a leading manufacturer of professional communication systems for land, sea and air safety, announces the release of its float free voyage data recorder (VDR) capsule Tron 40VDR. The Tron 40VDR is a combined float free emergency position-indicating radio beacon (EPIRB) and a float free storage medium. Tron 40VDR is Cospas-Sarsat and MED approved. Jotron will showcase Tron 40VDR at the SMM exhibition in Hamburg, Germany, 9-12 September.

Tron 40VDR is already supplied to all major manufacturers of VDR systems, all working closely with Jotron to obtain the most reliable solution for recording in a float free capsule. The contracts signed exceed approximately NOK20m and Jotron expects a continued increase of sales in the coming years.

The new Tron 40VDR float free capsule is designed according to the latest requirements for VDR performance standards, valid from 1 July 2014. A VDR system, along with the recorded data stored in the final recording medium, is a vital contribution and helps to identify the cause of any accident for investigators, shipowners and authorities. The Tron 40VDR float free capsule design construction and innovative technology provides a maintenance-friendly product for shipowners.

The Tron 40VDR float free capsule complies with the latest VDR performance standards IMO MSC.333 (90), IEC61996-1 Ed.2 and IEC61097-2. The separate VDR storage module contains the standard 64GB memory capacity.

Jotron sales and marketing director Rolf Andreas Wallin said: "Jotron leads the way in maritime safety technology and has produced the most reliable float free VDR capsule in the market. We are grateful to be considered a technologically advanced and trustworthy partner."
