EMS Ship Supply has successfully certified the seven most important hubs of the company in terms of product movement. Together with the ISO 9001 and the ISO 14001 certifications, this new milestone makes the company the most reliable marine and offshore supplier in the world.

ISO 22000:2005 has been specifically developed by the international organisation for standardisation dealing with food safety. The management system of a company with this certification has to comply with very strict standards and procedures in order to assure the maximum level of safety in the commercialisation and distribution of food products.

All of EMS’ offices have a full hazard analysis of critical control points (HACCP) system in place. HACCP, together with the ISO 9001, is an important base for assuring the quality of the service provided and the safety of the products delivered. The seven hubs that have been certified according to ISO 22000 standards are: Algeciras, Spain; Dubai, UAE; Houston, US; Las Palmas, Spain; Rotterdam, the Netherlands; Tarragona, Spain; and Singapore. Through these hubs most of the goods are distributed to the rest of EMS’ offices.

EMS has an integrated management system (IMS), which includes ISO 9001 (quality standards), ISO 14001 (environment standards) and HACCP, under which all branch offices were certified in 2009. The IMS for these seven hubs also includes ISO 22000.

The group has consolidated all the certifications with Bureau Veritas.
