ACI - Coatings for the Oil and Gas Industry

With over 30 years' experience within the oil and gas industry, 20 of which have been thermal-spray related, Advanced Coating Initiative (ACI) specialises in coatings for the oil and gas industry, including the application of materials such as tungsten carbide, hard chrome equivalents, inconel equivalents, ceramics and InnerArmor® to protect against wear, corrosion and erosion.

HVOF coatings

HVOF coatings have been developed specifically to increase the service lifecycle of new metallic components, as well as repair parts that have suffered from corrosion, erosion or wear. ACI provides an HVOF coating service, which is proven to exceed all previous methods and extend component life well beyond that of the original specification.

Plasma and arc spray coatings

In addition to the HVOF coatings available, ACI can also provide plasma and wire arc spray coatings, which have benefits in their own right and can be used when an alternative coating solution such as ceramic is required.

Coatings for valve components

Typical parts that benefit from the application of ACI coatings include, but are not limited to, valve components such as gates, seats and balls, pistons, pump shafts, stems and drilling tools.

Diamond grinding and lapping

ACI can prepare parts, apply coatings and finish machines by diamond grinding and lapping in house, offering a complete solution for repair of damaged components. This helps enhance new tool performance, and protect components of various geometries and dimensions from corrosion / wear and erosion.

Diamond-like carbon coatings

For internal tubular protection, revolutionary InnerArmor technology deposits diamond-like carbon coatings on the internal surfaces of a broad spectrum of products. These products can range from 0.5in parts to long, large-diameter production pipes.

InnerArmor applications also cover a wide spectrum of industries and applications, because virtually any function involving the handling or movement of fluids or gases can benefit. This includes a wide range of sectors including oil and gas, chemical processing, pulp and paper, food processing, public utilities and aerospace.
