Presserv AS, a Corrosion Control firm headquartered in Stavanger, Norway, has successfully completed its acquisition of Aberdeen-based Corrosion Solutions Ltd (CSL). CSL will continue to operate under their own name, but with the added support of a larger group.

The acquisition complements the existing current service and supply offerings. The acquisition is aligned with Presserv’s strategy to expand the company’s core business along with increasing size within the next two years.

Presserv AS CEO Niklas Hermansson stated: "Following a successful 2015, this acquisition is another step toward our goals for the future.

"The group’s activities are highly synergistic and complementary to each other. Distribution ranges, specialist equipment and personnel are interchangeable, giving our clients the benefits of the wide range of global corrosion control services on offer."

The group has a focus within the global oil, gas and marine industries, but are also active in other markets such as civil engineering for bridge preservation. The group are long-term distributors for Cortec corrosion inhibitors, Stopak visco-elastic coating systems, Sponge jet blasting technology and Jotun protective coatings. They have offices in UK, Norway and Brazil with joint ventures in CIS and more under discussion.

Director and founder of CSL since 1998, Allan Durham will stay on as director of CSL and also now on the board of Presserv AS.

Mr Durham commented: "This is an exciting time for CSL. In difficult times for the global oil and gas industry, our services are never more in demand and this acquisition allows the Presserv AS group of companies to utilise materials and personnel to the maximum efficiency to the benefit of all our clients. We have known and worked alongside Presserv AS for many years and the synergies are a perfect fit."

The group will be recruiting sales and technical personnel in UK to forward their grown plans.
