Ulva - Thermal Insulation Cladding

Ulva Limited are pioneers in the manufacture of premium quality non-metallic thermal insulation cladding and acoustic barrier membranes to the oil, gas, and petrochemical industry.

ULVASHIELD - NON-METALLIC THERMAL INSULATION CLADDING SYSTEM

UlvaShield is an innovative non-metallic thermal insulation cladding system developed specifically for the exacting needs of the onshore and offshore petrochemical industry, in order to manage the potentially devastating risk of pipeline failure due to Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI).

The UlvaShield system is the ideal solution for the protection of thermal and acoustic insulation systems, particularly in aggressive exposed conditions. UlvaShield can be applied over any thermal insulation medium on virtually any pipe, vessel, or equipment arrangement.

Following the successful application of millions of square meters of the UlvaShield system in a wide range of environmental conditions, including the North Sea, Atlantic Canada, the Middle East and the Far East, and Caspian Sea regions, it has been proven that UlvaShield is the best non-metallic thermal insulation cladding system available to the oil and petrochemical industry.

PROVEN AND OFFSHORE CERTIFIED INSULATION CLADDING

Formal testing of the system has been carried out by accredited independent laboratories for fire resistance, smoke and toxicity emissions, weathering, exposure to ultra-violet light, exposure to salt spray, and water vapour transmission that confirms the performance of the UlvaShield system. Furthermore, the UlvaShield system is certified by Lloyds Register for use on offshore systems.

MODULAR INSULATION SYSTEM COMPONENTS

The UlvaShield system comprises a reinforced elastomeric sheet principally compounded from Dupont's Hypalon® and is available in roll form, or as a composite section factory bonded to several insulation mediums to produce pipe section composites.

Moulded fittings for bends, elbows, tee's and cap-ends transform the system into a complete and comprehensive modular package enabling the applicator to install the UlvaShield system quickly and effectively giving optimum weatherproofing integrity.

SYSTEM INTEGRITY TESTING AND MONITORING

Unlike conventional insulation cladding systems, Ulva have developed a non-destructive testing program to quickly and effectively demonstrate the weatherproofing integrity of the UlvaShield cladding.

The service requires no additional costs associated with access and scaffold, and quickly identifies areas of poor thermal efficiency, penetrations of the cladding, and importantly, water ingress.

This is the most cost effective tool available to assist in the ongoing management of CUI, and which ensures the systems continuing integrity against water ingress.

SYSTEM LONGEVITY

Independent testing has demonstrated the outstanding longevity of the UlvaShield system, which coupled with the non-destructive testing, allows Ulva to offer industry leading material performance warranties.
