CTC Marine Projects - Subsea Construction, Installation and Trenching Contractor

CTC Marine Projects is a subsea construction, installation and trenching contractor with a worldwide track record. Operating some of the world's largest, most technically advanced marine trenching vehicles enables CTC to complete workscopes ranging from trenching to a more comprehensive subsea protection service for the international offshore construction industry.

CTC offers the added value of a comprehensive range of R&D, geotechnical analysis and engineering solutions, which expand the whole lifecycle of a field development from installation and trenching of product, to extending the life of a field using Life-of-Field seismic (LoFS) systems, through to the decommissioning of a field.

CTC's reach extends across the globe to serve markets within:

  • Offshore oil and gas production facilities
  • LoFS
  • Electrical power transmission systems
  • Offshore renewable power
  • Regional / intercontinental telecommunications systems
  • Military subsea ranges

Offshore and subsea engineering services

CTC's engineering capabilities can be applied to the following projects:

  • Marine trenching (jetting, mechanical cutting, ploughing and backfilling)
  • Flexible product installation, including flexible pipelines, umbilicals and power cables
  • Fibre-optic cable installation for telecommunications clients
  • LoFS engineering and installation
  • Subsea construction: installation of valves, protection structures, spools and jumpers; tie-ins between flexible / umbilicals and subsea structures; rigid spool tie-ins; pre-commissioning of umbilicals and flexibles; riser installation / replacement; mooring system installation / replacement
  • Decommissioning of mooring systems, umbilicals and flexibles
  • Vessel and equipment design, specification, upgrades and technical management

Subsea construction, installation and trenching project management

CTC is focused on providing project-driven solutions and methods to resolve operational requirements and to meet specific customer demands. CTC's project managers have experience of managing both small and large-sized onshore and offshore contracts / subcontracts, fulfilling safe and timely completion to the satisfaction of the operators and main contractors.

CTC has developed project management procedures, which ensure a standard approach while dealing with the client, subcontractors or internal support departments.

Engineering services for offshore and subsea operations

CTC can provide extensive engineering and design support for the planning and execution of offshore and subsea operations. Engineers use a wealth of advanced software in-house, which allows extensive analysis of offshore operations, including:

  • Finite element analysis of pipes, flexibles and umbilicals to determine bend and stress parameters
  • Dynamic analysis of vehicle launch and recovery systems to maximise the equipment's operating window in the most extreme sea states

Geotechnical analysis services

CTC's geotechnical team provides a full range of geoscience-related support, focused on geotechnical and trenching engineering, but also including metocean advice and risk analysis.

CTC maintains an extensive operational database which, combined with the use of predictive models where applicable, ensures selection of the correct asset and that realistic performance estimates are made to ensure compliance with client burial goals, and ultimately project success.

Services include:

  • Review of geophysical and geotechnical route survey data
  • Hazard identification and risk mitigation
  • Asset election and burial performance estimation
  • Commissioning of research and development, and scale-model testing
  • Post-project performance analysis

Offshore operations services

CTC Marine executes professional offshore operations for clients around the world, often in extreme weather and difficult environmental conditions. CTC's offshore crew have the expertise and experience to mitigate any challenges that they are faced with on a daily basis or in unique circumstances.

CTC's offshore crew have the capability to manage both small and large-sized offshore contracts, fulfilling safe and timely completion to the satisfaction of operators and main contractors. Our operations meet any necessary safety rules and regulations as well as codes of practice and client-specific requirements.

CTC focuses on minimising the impact to the environment resulting from routine offshore operational activities, by ensuring that the most environmentally friendly methods are used. This is achieved by commitment to a strategy of continual environmental improvement and by using material and energy efficiently.

About CTC
