Scanmudring

Scanmudring - Heavy Subsea Construction Equipment Operators

Scanmudring is a leading operator of heavy subsea construction equipment. Our products include project preparation and the Scanmskin offshore toolcarrier. We perform special underwater works in deep water or in locations with difficult access. Our tasks include high performance remotely controlled:

  • Underwater dredging
  • Removal or relocation of rock, rock dump, drill cut and cables
  • Levelling of the seabed
  • Assistance in connection with ROV operations
  • Pipeline deburial and maintenance
  • Installation and decommissioning of offshore oilfields

We have engaged in projects for the offshore oil industry, wreck cargo salvage, hydro power plant industry and civil engineering.

SCANMASKIN 1000 SYSTEM - SUBSEA INSTALLATIONS

We presently own and operate three Scanmaskin 1000 (SM1000) systems. Our track record speaks for itself:

  • Operation on the seabed, about 4,000hrs at water-depths down to 500m, with the longest single dive lasting five days
  • Very high efficiency and low maintenance time
  • No accidents to personnel or equipment

We have effectively utilised the machine's capacity and strength combined with precision of operation near subsea installations. After de-burial of approximately 7km of pipeline at depths to about 500m, Statoil's representative commented that: "Never has this process moved that fast - and under so such difficult conditions". The successful operation of the Scanmaskin is a result of:

  • Professional preparation of the operations
  • Planning for rapid mobilisation
  • Equipment set up efficiently reducing our client's use of support vessel time
  • Priority on safety, reliability, capacity and precision
  • Professional key personnel and personnel training

OPEN INTERFACE FOR BROAD RANGE OF SUBSEA EQUIPMENT

Scanmaskin 1000 is a ROV tool-carrier; built to operate at a water depth of 1,000m. The unit relocates on the seabed on tracks. The standard Scanmaskin is fitted with open interfaces for a broad range of subsea equipment and general construction tools. The standard hydraulic power unit is 1off x 95kW or 2off x 110kW. Examples of tools that can be fitted are:

  • Direct dredge pump
  • Ejector / jet pump
  • High pressure water pump
  • Excavation and dredge tool, cutter wheel
  • Cutting and grinder tool
  • Crusher tool and breakers tool (large hydraulic hammers for braking concrete)

MONITORING SYSTEM

The Scanmaskin MoS (Monitoring System) enables work in low visibility. Seabed levelling and measurements can be performed to a tolerance on the boom of abt ±0.1m with a fully extended arm.

The MoS can be interfaced with a model of the terrain/seabed and with the support vessel HPR and any navigational system. The operator can thus work "in the terrain model" relate to the positions of the vessels.

MOBILE SUBSEA EQUIPMENT

We provide equipment designed for rapid mobilisation on a ROV system. The unit is powered from surface or a subsea power pack. A special design available allows the units to reverse the flow by a reversing system. Rental of these units is normally based upon rental of the equipment only.

SCANGRABBER - WITH HYRAULIC POWER PACK AND HOSES

The Scangrabber is a hydraulically operated grabber system with a capacity of 2.5m³. A single wire crane operates the system. The grabber is available with hydraulic power pack and hoses, with or without personnel.
