Khalid Thabeth of Advanced Sensors has won HSBC's Business Thinking award 2012.

Khalid Thabeth, managing director of Advanced Sensors, has been named HSBC's Business Thinking winner 2012 at the National Final awards ceremony in Hertfordshire.

Mr Thabeth beat 53 other finalists to win the prestigious award, and will now see Advanced Sensors' existing financial reward doubled up to a maximum of £240,000. The company will also benefit from HSBC's extensive experience and support, as well as knowledge gained from the Business Thinking experience.

"I actually didn't think at all that I was going to win. I said there was no need to be nervous because I would not have to make a speech. I feel really honoured and privileged. Winning Business Thinking is beyond my wildest dreams," said Khalid Thabeth, speaking after the ceremony.

Advanced Sensors provides maintenance-free oil in water monitors for the oil and gas industry. With the backing of this award, the company plans to expand operations in the Middle East, Russia and Nigeria.
