With more than 2,500 installations worldwide, 55 patents, ABS (American Bureau of Shipping) and DNV approval, as well as ISO 9001:2008 accreditation, North Sea-based Nordrep is renowned for its Quick flange solution.
The solution has been designed specifically for the offshore market and provides safe, cost-effective and flexible pipe connections. It is a cold work connection solution, which can be installed either by Nordrep or by specially trained client technicians.
The Quick flange is slid over the pipe end and activated with a cold-forging tool. There is no spark or heat generated in the activation process, which takes up to 15 minutes to complete for the largest sizes (12in) and much less time for smaller sizes. The flange design is very simple, with a pure metal-to-metal seal; it has no moving parts, balls, springs, seals or gaskets.
The Quick flange solution is used in a variety of applications as a quick and safe alternative to welding.
It is used for maintenance, repair, modification and construction activities onshore and offshore, in small and large quantities.

The issue of crevice corrosion is dealt with through the application of Belzona, a two-part epoxy paste that sets to a metal-like consistency. Testing has proved this to be a suitable protection against threats of crevice corrosion. The same testing has shown that Quick flange is no more susceptible to corrosion inside or outside the pipe than a welded weld-neck flange would be.
For pipelines suffering corrosion, scouring or mechanical damage, time is of the essence when executing a repair. Any reduction in the time taken to intervene and repair subsea pipelines directly affects the time required on site by subsea contractors, divers and support vessels. Reduction in time means reduction in total service costs.
Nordrep provides repair and exchange of side and retractable thrusters, replacement of anodes on Spud cans and legs, NDT inspection, UHP underwater cleaning, and blanking of thruster tunnels for dry inside repair.
In addition, we provide underwater welding that meets the requirements for Class of AWS.6M-99 Lloyds register (LRS), the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), NorwDet Norske Veritas(DNV), Bureau B&W, Rina and Germanisher Lloyd (GL).
