Blaze Manufacturing Solutions, which was established in 2006 by Howard and Ann Johnson, has secured deals with a trio of key oil and gas companies worth £3m.

The firm, headquartered in Laurencekirk, specialises in the design and supply of fire protection, fire and gas detection, control systems, loss prevention and consultancy services. The company is also an accredited distributor for Xtralis, manufacturer of the market-leading VESDA Aspirated smoke detection systems.

The recent contract wins include work to supply a major operator with a Deck Integrated Fire Fighting System (DIFFS) Skid package, which includes CCTV and Triple IR flame detection being incorporated to a local Siemens programmable logic controller (PLC) which is fully integrated into the platforms Distributed Control System (DCS).

The significant award will include the design, manufacture, fabrication, assembly, supply, inspection, testing, preservation, packaging and delivery of a bespoke engineered helideck fire suppression system skid package.

Blaze, which is a finalist in the Northern Star Business Awards in the Outstanding Contribution to the Energy Sector category, is fully resourced in-house to provide a complete engineering, procurement, installation, commissioning and maintenance package, managed by dedicated project managers who act as single points of contact for project lifecycle.

To meet demand from clients, the award-winning firm recently added eight members of staff to its workforce, who have more than 150 years of industry experience between them, and work between the company’s Laurencekirk and Kemnay offices boosting the number of employees to 32 members of staff and 67 contractors
