Our passive fire protection products include Darmatt flexible blankets, Darshield rigid enclosures, Darmet radiant heat shields and Darmatt KM1 composite boards. Darchem Thermal Protection Systems is a dedicated business unit, within Darchem Engineering, focused on the requirements of the petrochemical and offshore industries. Darchem has the capabilities to undertake major contracts and provide management for multi-discipline programmes. DARMATT – FLEXIBLE PASSIVE FIRE PROTECTION BLANKETSDarmatt is designed to protect vessels, pipelines, valves, actuators, control lines etc. and is fully tested and certified to meet stringent offshore specifications. Passive fire protection against blast overpressure up to 1.6bar and hydrocarbon jet fire up to 2 hours can be provided with this system. DARSHIELD – RIGID FIRE PROTECTION ENCLOSURESDarshield enclosures are designed and manufactured specifically to fit vulnerable and critical items of equipment. Darshieled offers up to two hours passive fire protection against flame temperatures in excess of 1,200ºC. Features resistant to both blast and jet fires can be incorporated into the design. DARMET – RADIANT HEAT SHIELDSFlare stack radiant heat shields - Protects flare stack from radiant heat and has been tested to reduce heat flux levels by up to 95% in thermal conditions in excess of 700ºC. Darmet radiant heat shields can withstand flame lick and are constructed from high grade materials selected to perform and resist corrosion under the most onerous environmental and operational conditions. Vertical radiant heat shielding - Darmet vertical heat shielding is designed to protect structures, plant and personnel from operational or emergency high temperature. The system is fully tested and carries all necessary certification. DARMATT KM1 – COMPOSITE FIRE PROTECTIONDarmatt KM1 is a recently developed endothermic semi-rigid board containing ceramic fibre sheets incorporating a strongly endothermic material which assists the board to absorb heat during a fire scenario. EXHAUST SYSTEMSGas Turbine and Diesel exhaust systems, incorporating thermal and acoustic insulation if required. WEATHER WALLINGWeather walling and rated firewalls are designed to suit the environmental, operational or emergency conditions anticipated on an offshore structure. FACILITY Darchem Thermal Protection Systems has a world class facility in the North East of England which incorporates dedicated manufacturing cells, computer aided design and a project management team interfacing with the customer to ensure contractual requirements are achieved. RESEARCH AND TESTING Darchem Thermal Protection Systems can call on the services of Darchem Flare, a sister business unit, which is a NAMAS accredited test facility. Darchem Flare carries out a range of fire and other tests to suit customer and industry specifications. QUALITY Darchem Engineering is accredited to BS EN ISO 9001 in addition to carrying major client approvals.
