Simtronics ASA recently received an order from EDF (Electricité de France) for the revamping of hydrogen gas detection for 35 nuclear reactors in power plants throughout France. The value of the contract is approximately NOK 22 million and is the largest single order ever received by Simtronics ASA for delivery of detection systems.
The majority of the deliveries will be done over the next five years, however the project will cover a period up to 2020. Service and maintenance activities will also follow this contract.
Simtronics has supplied gas detection products to EDF for a number of years. However, the present project is considered a break-through toward long term relationship with EDF, opening the way for further gas detection deliveries in the future.
