HAZARD DETECTION PRODUCTS

Tyco Safety Products designs and manufactures a wide range of special hazard detection products. In particular the Scott Instruments-Baccarach and Thorn Security product ranges have for many years provided the offshore and petrochemical operators with a comprehensive selection of fire detectors, flame detectors, fire control and alarm equipment, fire protection equipment, fixed/portable gas detection equipment and related safety equipment.

INFRARED FLAME DETECTORS AND LINEAR HEAT DETECTORS

Current products in use offshore include the S200Plus range of triple infrared flame detectors, the Minerva Fireline MXF100 fibre optic linear heat detector and the extensive Scott Instruments range of portable and fixed gas detection products. These products are complemented with a range of compatible control panels, heat probes and a new line of Minerva MX intrinsically safe fire detectors.

FLAME DETECTORS - TRIPLE IR S200+ RANGE

The Triple IR S200+ flame detector range offers unrivalled features for reliable flame detection. Intrinsically safe and flameproof units are available together with the option for two wire loop-powered variants and fully addressable models for operation with the Marine approved Minerva and MX Technology Control Systems. Multiple units can be connected to the same two-core cable loop, thereby providing significant cable cost savings and upgrade capability.

FlameVision S300 (NEW FLAME DETECTION TECHNOLOGY)

The FlameVision S300 range of flame detectors will utilise a unique patented array technology. This provides a new and exciting opportunity to reliably detect flames using Infrared (IR) and discriminate against unwanted IR sources. The integration of a video signal with the high integrity IR based flame identification offers rapid and reliable remote monitoring facilities.

MXF100 LINEAR HEAT DETECTION - DISTRIBUTED TEMPERATURE SENSING ON FIBRE

The Minerva Fireline MFX100 is a revolutionary laser and fibre optic based linear heat detection system providing a fast, flexible and highly resilient means of detecting fires and protecting both people and plant in a wide variety of risks. The technology is well proven and has already been specified and successfully installed in many different applications.

The Minerva Fireline MXF100 uses a combination of powerful laser technology and computer processing to provide fast and accurate temperature measurement along a 2km loop of fibre optic cable. This system provides a flexible, programmable platform to suit many different risks, including hazardous areas.

GAS DETECTION INSTRUMENTATION

Scott Instruments products are available to detect environments containing combustible gases, flammable vapours, toxic gases, or an oxygen deficiency. These products and systems are used extensively in process control, fixed systems and portable personal protection applications.

The Scott Freedom 5000 gas detector range is a full-featured 4-20mA, loop powered transmitter designed to reliably detect any one of 40+ toxic gases. Its universal electronics and flexible, user-friendly features drive down gas detection costs for almost any facility.
