First oil received at the CFD 11 field, Bohai Bay - Peoples Republic of China

CFD 11 came on stream successfully ahead of schedule on July 18th. Oil was being exported via the APL SYS (SAL Yoke) system to the FPSO Hai Yang Shi You 112 – Kerr-McGee Global Producer VIII. The CFD-11 oil field is located in Bohai Bay Block 04/36 in the Peoples Republic of China, approximately 90 km from the port of Tanggu.

The FPSO and SPM are owned by China Offshore Oil Bohai Corporation (COOBC) and operated by Kerr-McGee China Petroleum Limited.
Kerr-McGee China Petroleum Ltd expects to have a total of 10 wells on line and estimates that production from the 10 wells will range from 15,000 to 20,000 bpd of oil (bpd). The company will bring additional wells on production over the next two years, with peak production in the range of 40,000 to 45,000 bpd expected by mid-2005.

The purpose of the SPM is to provide the fixed weather vaning mooring for the FPSO, and to provide the interface between the subsea pipelines and cables allowing the transfer of well fluids from, and injection water and HV power to the wellhead platforms. The FPSO is a new-build 199,972 DWT vessel. The mooring system and vessel are designed to withstand the 100-year typhoon of 5.0 meter significant wave height. The water depth is approximately 24 m. The field life is 25 years.

APL's scope for COOBC's CFD-11 FPSO project was:
A complete SYS system consisting of the following main components:
SYS tower with rotating turret table and piled anchor foundation.
Topside structure including piping, swivels for process, HV and LV power supply, fiber and signals.
Mooring yoke mounted to the turret table.
Mooring arms between FPSO and mooring yoke.
Flexible risers and jumper cables between FPSO and SPM.
Equipment on FPSO including mooring support structure, riser tower, pull-in winch and equipment for FPSO hook-up.

In addition, APL provided:
Model tests
Offshore installation and commissioning of the SYS
FPSO hook-up and commissioning

The CFD 11 was APL’s first of two SYS deliveries in the Chinese Bohai Bay.

First oil received at the BZ25-1 field, Bohai Bay - Peoples Republic of China

BZ25-1 came on stream successfully ahead of schedule on August 27th. Oil was being exported via the APL SYS (SAL Yoke) system to the FPSO Hai Yang Shi You 113. The BZ25-1 oil field is located in Bohai Bay Block 11/19 in the Peoples Republic of China, approximately 150 km southeast from the port of Tanggu.

The FPSO and SPM are owned by China Offshore Oil Bohai Corporation (COOBC) and operated by CNOOC/Chevron Texaco.
Operator expects to have a total of 131 wells on line and estimates that production from the 131 wells will range from 49074 to 96638 bpd of oil (bpd).

The purpose of the SPM is to provide the fixed weather vaning mooring for the FPSO, and to provide the interface between the subsea pipelines and cables allowing the transfer of well fluids from, and injection water and HV power to the wellhead platforms. The FPSO is a new-build 201,287 DWT vessel. The mooring system and vessel are designed to withstand the 100-year typhoon of 5.0 meter significant wave height. The water depth is approximately 18 m. The field life is 25 years.

APL's scope for COOBC's BZ25-1 FPSO project was:

Flexible risers and jumper cables between FPSO and SPM.
Equipment on FPSO including mooring support structure, riser tower, pull-in winch and equipment for FPSO hook-up.

In addition, APL provided:
Model tests
Offshore installation and commissioning of the SYS
FPSO hook-up and commissioning

The BZ25-1 was APL’s second of two SYS deliveries in the Chinese Bohai Bay.
