Advanced Production and Loading AS (APL) today announced that it has signed a letter of intent with Petro-Canada Netherlands B.V. (PCNL), for a Single Anchor Loading (SAL) system as export oil tanker mooring and loading system for the Dutch De Ruyter field development.
APL will supply a SAL system for mooring of and transfer of export oil to shuttle tankers.
De Ruyter is located in the southern part of the Dutch Continental Shelf of the harsh North Sea at a waterdepth of 33 meters. The field development concept including the SAL system for De Ruyter is identical to the one for the PCNL operated Hanze field. Hanze is located some 90km north of De Ruyter also in Dutch waters.
The SAL system for De Ruyter will be the eighth to be installed since the first one at the Statoil operated Siri field in 1998. Close to 600 tanker connections and disconnections have been performed to the installed SAL systems.
APL installed the first Submerged Turret Loading (STL) system in 1993. Since that time APL has been contracted for 27 turret mooring systems world wide for FPSOs, FSOs, shuttle tankers and standard trading tankers.
