Responding to the growing LNG market demand for onshore and offshore terminals is a key objective of FMC Technologies. Year in year out R&D investments continue to be made to meet the high degree of safety required by the LNG industry, increased reliability, cost gains and environmental considerations.
Within the last decade this has led to the installation of the Chiksan® LNG Marine Loading Arms equipped with Constant Motion Swivel Joints, FMC Emergency Release Systems and FMC Chiksan Hydraulic Quick Connect/Disconnect Couplers to meet onshore and offshore specific requirements in different parts of the world. The in house design, test and manufacture of all the above core components have made FMC technologies the only LNG marine loading arm supplier in the world with single source capabilities and experience.
Since 1963 when FMC Introduced the first all metal LNG arms a total of 450 Chiksan Marine Loading Arms in diameters ranging from 8’’ to 20’’ have been supplied in the four corners of the world for conventional and at offshore exposed location jetties where the movements of LNG carriers are subject to continuous wave induced motions.
The Loading Systems Division of FMC Technologies, a 2 billion US $ Corporation, together with Shell Solutions will be presenting at LNG-14 the offloading LNG system developed for Side By Side (SBS) applications between two vessels or from a GBS (Gravity Based Structure).
The complete SBS System using a Chiksan Marine Loading Arm has been fully designed, tested, manufactured and qualified for these offshore applications.
