Frequent inspections by marine superintendents control the presence, use and knowledge of these manuals. All vessels are certified according to the ISM code and the fleet is managed in accordance with a comprehensive QES system. ANCHOR HANDLING SIMULATORTo ensure all vessel management personnel are well trained in deepwater anchor handling at both the planning and operational stages, Maersk Supply Service has developed an anchor-handling simulator where vessel management personnel practice skills by running existing known operation as well as trying out ideas on extremes. The simulator can also be used in a dedicated mode to one special operation, including vessel officers, together with mooring supervisors from rig and advisors. This type of simulation is unique to the industry.
