Jorin has launched their new ViPA model MZ4 portable online water quality analyser. The MZ4 is ATEX certified for use in Zone 2 and measures oil droplet size, oil concentration, solid particle size and solids concentration simultaneously. The MZ4 is only 425mm x 275mm x 420mm and weighs in at less than 30kg making it Jorin’ smallest and lightest Zone 2 certified analyser to date.

Nick Roth, Jorin’s managing director, said: “By working closely with the manufacturer of the new MZ4’s purge protection system, we were able to develop a very compact package for the instrument and reduce the weight by more 40kg compared to previous MZ models which will make the new system much easier to work with and easier to deploy to site.”

The ViPA MZ series is used by oil and gas operators to check and optimise the performance of their water treatment and disposal systems. Typically the analyser are transported to onshore and offshore production facilities and used for troubleshooting, monitoring equipment and chemical trials, developing water quality specifications, and optimising water treatment prior to disposal or re-injection.

The ability of the ViPA system to provide critical process data in real-time means that work can be undertaken in much shorter time periods than the traditional offline laboratory analyses can be completed in. This means that solutions can be achieved at a lower cost and with greater confidence than ever before.

Gayathri Ariaratnam, Jorin’s process engineering manager, said: “The new MZ4 will allow both our customers’ and our own consultants to deploy more quickly to site, to move faster around the process plant and provide answers quickly. This will save time, money and reduce risk without compromising the quality of work done or the solutions provided.”
