Matrikon Europe Ltd (TSX: MTK) have announced that they are to host a one day Alarm Management Seminar. The event will take place on Wednesday 19th March 2008 at the Hilton Treetops Hotel in Aberdeen.

Working alongside other industry experts, Matrikon have teamed up with the HSE, EEMUA and ABB Engineering Services to highlighting the issues facing companies wishing to improve their alarm management to gain greater plant efficiency.

Since the publication of the Second Edition of EEMUA 191 ‘Alarm Systems - A Guide to Design, Management and Procurement’ and increasing pressure from the UK’s HSE for better alarm handling, companies are focusing more on monitoring and analysis of process alarms and events.

Matrikon have always been synonymous with alarm management and their Matrikon(tm) Alarm Manager and IMAC(tm) software products are well respected by major organizations working in the oil and gas industry who use them extensively both onshore and offshore.

Other presenters will include several prominent companies from the process industry who will talk about their own experiences with alarm management and the benefits it can bring.

Attending this event is essential for anyone who is considering undertaking an alarm management program or who is currently in the advanced stages of alarm rationalization.

"This caliber of this alarm management event is very exciting for us. By having the expertise of the HSE, EEMUA and ABB Engineering Services in one room, this really is a unique opportunity for engineers and plant managers to have all their alarm management questions answered." says Matrikon’s Products Division Sales Manager, Sean Herring.
