Intrinsically-safe rated capacity indicator for hazardous zones

The Robway RCI-4100IS is an intrinsically-safe rated capacity indicator specifically designed for offshore pedestal cranes operating in hazardous areas, providing the operator with an in-cabin display clearly indicating safe working load and actual load, in reference to the manufacturers’ charts. The RCI-4100IS also provides the operator with other operational data, such as boom length, angle and radius. It has the following features:

Anchor winch monitoring systems

The Robway anchor winch monitoring system is a single-graphic display providing line tension, line-out and line-speed data for multiple winches simultaneously. Minimum and maximum limits can be preset by the operator with audible and visual alarm warnings where limits are exceeded.

Anti-two-block operator warning system

Two blocking occurs when a hook block or hoist line attachment contacts the boom or fly jib head. Robway’s ATB systems provide a simple retrofit solution to prevent a two-blocking condition. A suspended switch assembly at the head of the boom provides a motion-cut output preventing overhoist.

Robway switches are compatible and interchangeable with almost any crane and can be used with alarm modules or with various system displays.

Data management systems

Data logging is standard on all of Robway’s automatic rated capacity indicator systems. We have successfully completed a number of projects where the ability to download the data via radio to a remote control centre was a prime objective.

Our standard datalogging feature provides vital management information relating to how the equipment is being operated. Our customers have found this of great benefit when assessing safety issues and determining preventive maintenance schedules. Software to record, sort and display information relative to efficiency (individual/cumulative lifts), is available upon request.
