ABAS Cranes

ABAS Cranes - Deck Cranes for Offshore, Fishing and Merchant Vessels

ABAS Crane AS is situated on the island Gossen, outside the Molde town, on the north-west coast of Norway. We design, construct and produce offshore cranes and lifting equipment for the global ship and offshore industry.

ABAS Crane delivers hydraulic deck cranes with both fixed boom, knuckle boom and telescopic boom. Many of our deck cranes are tailor made, and represent new crane concepts with innovative solutions. Our new product generation includes cranes with different lifting capacities for various working radiuses.

SHIP CRANES

ABAS ship cranes are designed for all kinds of marine vessels, including longliners, trawlers, RoRo vessels, chemical and gas tankers, container ships, as well as FPSOs (Floating Production, Storage and Offloading units) and anchor handling vessels.

Our range of products include:

  • Offshore cranes
  • Deck cranes
  • Rail travelling cranes on AHTS vessels
  • Active heave compensation systems
  • Rescue cranes
  • Winches

DECK CRANES FOR RESCUE AND SPECIAL EQUIPMENT

A wide range of merchant vessels are fitted with both ABAS deck cranes and rescue cranes. These include RoRo vessels, chemical tankers, container ships and gas tankers.

Ship owners have individual needs and very often innovative solutions are required. The development of new crane concepts is therefore a part of our sales effort. Highly skilled engineers perform this work in close co-operation with authorities, naval architects, shipbuilders and owners.

OFFSHORE CRANES

ABAS cranes can be found on-board all kinds of offshore vessels, such as seismic and FPSOs, platform supply vessels, anchor handling vessels and stand-by vessels, etc. As a successful supplier in this segment, our ABAS cranes meet the requirements of all national and international authorities and classifications.

All ABAS cranes have stainless steel rods in hydraulic cylinders and bolts. In addition, the crane parts are always metallized. These factors contribute to the best protection against corrosion. Modern electrohydraulic aggregates and high-pressure hydraulics ensure excellent performance of the cranes.

SHIP CRANE DESIGN AND PRODUCTION

We design our products according to customer class society. As a standard our cranes are design according to Norwegian Maritime Directorate rules if not class society is required. ABAS uses modern FEM tools and 3D modelling tools.

ABAS uses well known suppliers in crane technology and utilizes a network of partners in production and assembly of the final products. And all installation and commissioning is performed by highly skilled service engineers on site.

As well as customised design and production ABAS also offers valuable customer service, including:

  • Service and maintenance on site and in workshop
  • Re-engineering and re-building of existing products
  • Engineering services
  • Spare parts
  • 24-hour support

ABAS prides itself on being a small and flexible organisation, providing customized projects, with highly skilled staff.
