New offshore crane from Dreggen to Gullfaks C

Dreggen delivers this week an Explosion proof (Exde) electric driven overhead traverse crane to Statoil for the weather deck of their Gullfaks C platform. The crane has a capacity of 15 ton on single wire fall and a lifting height of 226 m.

The crane has a span of 5,2 m and the monitoring and positioning of the crane and hook is done with tacho generators and Dreggen designed PLC programs.

In addition to handling of parts down to the maintenance deck in the utility shaft of the platform the crane is certified for transportation of personnel and performance of work from the basket with severe safety regulations specified by DNV and FEM such as additional wire drum brake and max load of 1,5 t in man riding mode.

Frequency controlled hoisting speed of the crane is 0-25 m/min with load and 0-50 m/min without load

General information:

Dreggen Crane A.S is located with offices and production facilities by the seaside in Bergen, on the west coast of Norway, with deepwater quay, and a total of 2000 m2 in workshops and offices.
