This week Dreggen delivered a Gantry travelling slewing deck crane with operator cabin to the Dutch shipyard IHC Holland NV for use in China on a vessel owned by Chec Guangzhou Dredging Company.
The span between the legs of the gantry is 11,2 meter, the height of the complete crane is 13,4 meter and total weight is almost 70 tons.
The crane is installed to facilitate repairs and maintenance of the dredging installation and for handling of heavy weights up to 17,5 tons. The outreach of the crane is 19 meter and this is sufficient for draghead replacing.
The crane will travel along the vessel at a step less speed from 0-10 m/min at ships list / trim of 5/2 degrees with full load in maximum wind speed of 20 m/sec.
The safety features are extensive:
· Thermal overload device for motor
· Overload protection
· Max tensile force protection for power feeding cable
· Siren for “travelling gear in operating”
· Fail-safe automatic brakes
· Emergency stops
· Limit switches for hoisting, lowering and crane travelling.
The crane will be designed and constructed according to Bureau Veritas and China Classification Society rules and regulations.
