Three End-of-year High Points at Machinefabriek EMCÉ BV

For Machinefabriek EMCÉ BV (subsidiary of Stokvis Holding), a specialist in the field of standard and customer-specific winches in the range of 100 kg to 100 tons, December 2005 was a memorable month in which the following three noteworthy landmarks were reached.
NEN EN ISO 9001:2000
EMCÉ modified the working method according to the standards of NEN EN ISO 9001:2000 and implemented it as a quality system within a period of six months. As a result, the external auditor recently awarded the certificate to Mr Van Zaanen.
MR 30 FLG
For the MR 30 FLG, the 150 kg person-lifting winch, a design approval was acquired from Lloyds Register of Shipping and American Bureau of Shipping as well as from Det Norske Veritas. In the meantime, more than 70 winches have been delivered to various offshore contractors throughout the world. These winches are especially designed for lifting people onto offshore platforms and are as standard fitted with all the safety options. Moreover, this winch satisfies all ATEX guidelines and can therefore be used in dangerous environments where the customer requires ATEX.
EXPANSION
Because of the forever increasing order portfolio, EMCE has expanded its production by taking over an engineering factory adjacent to its own engineering factory in Voorhout.
It now has extra floor space of 1200 m2 and 7 extra enthusiastic technical specialists. Winches in the range of 100 kg to 3000 kg will be made in the new factory hall. Besides the production of these winches, the new EMCE air-operated motors (gear motors) will also be assembled and tested here.
This does not mean that EMCÉ will now put its feet up; a number of new projects have already been planned for 2006. Expectations are that a new technical sales brochure will be published in the first quarter in which an even larger range of winches will be presented. Moreover, the website will be modernised and expanded and the implementation of a new ERP system is expected.
