The first batch of two new mid-range hydraulic winches was delivered to Rotrex Winches on 24th August 2010.

Destined for the hire fleet, the first new Rotex NH17 was immediately prepared, put on test and despatched for a 12-month hire commencing 1st September. The second new NH17 is committed on hire at the end of September.

The Rotrex NH17 is a single-drum hydraulic-powered winch capable of pulling up to 17t on the first layer. The drum is driven by two auto fail safe braked, two-speed hydraulic motors via a gear train, giving line speeds of up to 40m/min on the first layer.

To ensure even layering of the wire rope on the drum, the winch is fitted with precision-machined rope spooling gear. The winch is supplied with certified lifting points and a dedicated lifting sling assembly as standard. Control stands, powerpacks and all necessary hosing can be fitted, tested and supplied as part of a hire winch spread, as well as in-line running monitors, sheaves, fairleads and rope.

With a compact footprint making it ideal for use on platform or vessel decks with limited space, the winch will tackle a wide range of lifting and pulling functions. Designed by Rotrex engineers as a robust, versatile, general-purpose hire fleet winch, these winches extend the capability of Rotrex Winches’ existing hire fleet to meet customer demand for lower to mid-range hydraulic winches.
