Robust, direction giving, explosion-protected.
Whenever the operational safety of explosion-protected safety and escape sign luminaire is in-volved, there is no room for compromises, as only fully functional luminaires can save human lives. The new series of metal, explosion-protected escape sign luminaries with LED technology from Cooper Crouse-Hinds GmbH not only fulfils the extremely high requirements for explosion protec-tion, but also the legal requirements for emergency and safety lighting installations. The new Ex-Lite luminaire is capable of safely showing the right way at all times, even in complex and often badly laid out industrial installations with potentially explosive atmospheres.
The white LED technology used for the illuminants guarantees maintenance-free operation with no replacing of illuminants throughout the complete service life of the luminaire. This reduces the operating costs and increases the operational safety enormously, particularly in locations that are not easily accessible. The supply circuits of the LEDs are intrinsically safe. Due to the wide input voltage range from 110V to 277V AC and 110V to 250V DC, this luminaire can be used interna-tionally.
The luminaire has a visibility range of 28m and is available with a wide variety of pictograms. Thanks to the high degree of protection IP 66 and the extremely robust light alloy enclosure with scratchproof, mineral glass pictogram, the Ex-Lite can be installed anywhere, even where the ambient conditions are extremely severe, such as those found in the offshore, petrochemical or heavy industry. The luminaire is built in accordance with the ATEX directive and can, therefore, be used in hazardous areas in Zones 1, 2, 21 and 22.
The luminaire is available in three different versions to cover a very wide range of applications:
As Ex-Lite mains luminaire for connection to monitored networks.
As Ex-Lite N with a self-contained battery system and automatic function monitoring and operat-ing time test. It has a rated emergency lighting cycle of three hours and is especially suited for use in peripheral installations and for smaller applications.
As an individually monitored safety and escape sign luminaire Ex-Lite CG-S with monitoring mod-ule, the luminaire is supplied, battery-boosted, with power from a ZB-S emergency lighting instal-lation from CEAG. It monitors all the functions of the luminaire and checks the feed line for short or open circuits, whereby no additional installations are required. Any incidents are shown clearly on the display. Thus, even in case of highly complex installations, troubleshooting and the elimi-nation of faults is not a problem. Another considerable advantage: the daily function test, which is laid down by law, is carried out automatically by the central control unit. This saves no end of time and money.
