R. STAHL Rarticipate on the Most Important Oil and Gas Exhibition in Latin America

Waldenburg – From 11th – 14th September, 2006 the eyes of the international oil and gas industry were turned to Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), where the 13th edition of the Rio Oil & Gas Expo took place. R. STAHL was represented by its exclusive Brazilian representative Instrumentos Lince Ltda.
On an exhibition area of 80m² the visitors got an overview over the whole R. STAHL product line. Sales teams from Germany as well as from Instrumentos Lince Ltda. introduced the products, informed the customers and discussed various applications. More than 500 customer contacts has been made in these four days. The big interest in the products has proven, that R. STAHL and Instrumentos Lince, one of the leading Brazilian supplier of components and equipments for hazardous areas, have a longstanding successful partnership. Instrumentos Lince has outstanding knowledge and system know-how in instrumentation, electrical equipment and applications for hazardous areas. One proof of that is the successful promotion of the new Fieldbus products of R. STAHL in Brazil.
Another big success on the 'Rio Oil & Gas Expo' was the new repair light 6149 from R. STAHL. This innovative product convinced the visitors with its easy handling, flexible use and very long life-time of its lamps. 'With this exhibition we expect very important impulses for our good running business in South America', stated Herbert Schober, Vice President Sales and Rainer Nägle, Regional Sales Manager for America.
Since the first edition in 1982, the 'Rio Oil & Gas Expo' has developed to a leading oil and gas industry event in Latin America. It takes place at Riocentro Convention Center in Rio de Janeiro every two years. On the space of 30,000m² more than 800 exhibitors from Brazil, Germany, Great Britain, USA, Finland, Norway, etc. presented new technologies and equipment for the oil and gas industry. With more than 32,000 visitors the exhibition reached a new record.
Sponsor of the 'Rio Oil & Gas Expo' is Petrobras (Petróleo Brasileiro S.A.), the state-owned Brazilian oil and gas company. It is in the top ten of the worldwide oil and gas companies. Evidence for its success is, that Petrobras achieved Brazilian self-sufficiency in oil in April 2006. So the theme for the exhibition 'Brazilian oil self-sufficiency: A new era of opportunities and challenges' has been chosen by the Organizing Committee due to the proximity of self-sufficiency.
