HYPER COMPRESSOR PRODUCTS

This group of compressors boasts the following design features:

• Rugged motion work with low specific loads for long operating life
• Simple and robust design
• Easy access to all parts of motion work
• Distance piece between motion work and cylinder, preventing gas from entering crankcase
• To ensure safe operation, lube oil held in separate tank
• Second auxiliary crosshead for enhanced guidance of high pressure plungers, hence prolonged packing life as well as safe operation
• Plunger bending loads held by patented plunger operating within permissible limits
• Cartridge-type cylinder inserts can be quickly replaced

LABY® COMPRESSOR PRODUCTS

This group of compressors boasts the following design features:

• Labyrinth sealing system on piston and piston rod gland
• Non-lubricated cylinder section (no oil required, no contamination of the gas, likewise contaminated gas does not harm compressor operation)
• Vertical arrangement
• Lubricated piston rod guiding system, providing precise alignment and long life
• Top quality compressor valves for high reliability
• Standard executions available with: open distance piece, closed and purged distance piece, gas-tight crankcase (zero leakage) and gas and pressure-tight crankcase (zero leakage)

COMPRESSOR DESIGN RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT

Optimizing our compressor designs with regard to efficiency, function and lifetime is a key part of the applied research activities carried out by Burckhardt Compression.

Our activities center around the fields of physics in all areas of reciprocating compressors and their application: computer programs to calculate dynamic processes and to optimize compressor layout, design of compressor parts or entire compressors, geometry, strength properties, material and manufacturing.

COMPRESSOR ENGINEERING

Our interlinked computer system allows our engineering department to provide cost-effective solutions to customer problems quickly and on a worldwide basis. Services such as retrofits and analysis of operation and maintenance can be provided by our customer support group.

We select and design special compressors, provide engineering for new applications and processes, optimize entire compressor systems including digital simulation of gas pulsations and calculation of resulting pipe forces as well as digital analysis of piping vibration.

ENGINEERING CONTRACTING

Our contracting department has experienced engineers capable of handling large and complex contracts, such as the electrical and mechanical requirements of compressor stations and the supply of a variety of auxiliary equipment. Contracts are fulfilled on time and on budget thanks to our efficient procurement, expediting and cost control.

COMPRESSOR MANUFACTURING AND PACKAGING

Our plant at Oberwinterthur is the center of our compressor manufacturing operation. If possible, we procure auxiliary equipment in the end-user's country to provide a high local content. Increasing our productivity in manufacturing and reducing lead times are two of the goals we are constantly striving to meet. We have made substantial investments in modern CNC machines, providing a sound basis for the cost-efficient manufacture of our compressors.
