ASBESTOS REMOVAL AND DISPOSAL

Removal of asbestos will be indicated where there is a risk of asbestos fibres becoming airborne. This is likely to happen where asbestos-containing materials are damaged or their condition has deteriorated. If major refurbishment or demolition is planned consideration should be given to partial or complete removal of affected Asbestos Containing Materials (ACMS).

Removal takes place under controlled conditions which removes the risk of human exposure to the asbestos.

Disposal is carried out in accordance with the Special Regulations Act (amended 1996), and is monitored by the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA).

ASBESTOS SURVEYS

AJ Asbestos Removal Services have a team of BOHS qualified asbestos surveyors who undertake Type 1, 2 and 3 asbestos surveys. Past survey experience ranges from surveying entire local farming estates, offices, regional police head quarters, industrial buildings and oil platforms etc. Any of our qualified office staff can provide a quotation for a Type 1, 2 or 3 survey of anything from a garden shed to a national property portfolio.

On completion of the survey, our staff are available to explain the findings and offer advice. This can range from discussions with potential purchasers on the cost implications of the survey, to assisting property managers with the compilation of asset management plans.
