EM&I is pleased to announce that it has received a number of excellent FPAL scores and highly positive feedback from SBM Offshore for the quality of the company’s Ex Equipment inspection procedures.

The latest Ex Equipment inspection carried out by EM&I was for the Cidade de Ilhabela FPSO, operating offshore Brazil.

EM&I regional general manager South America Mario Paris said: "Ex equipment integrity is a crucial element in managing safety risk on offshore assets.

"Receiving such good FPAL scores from SBM is a very pleasing confirmation that our teams are satisfying SBM requirements and doing a great job".

EM&I’s multi-skilled, CompEx-certified rope access specialists work as an integral part of the SBM Ex Team and regularly complete more than 100% of the planned workscope.

EM&I, encouraged by SBM, is working to develop a fully risk-based strategy, which will use Ex Equipment degradation analysis studies and specialised non-intrusive, non-destructive testing (NDT) to further focus work scopes and reduce costs.

EM&I CEO Danny Constantinis said: "Latest FPSO designs are more complex and have many more Ex components whose integrity needs to be managed.

"EM&I is in the forefront of innovative strategies and methods to bring these benefits to our clients".
