The Wash

FoundOcean, an experienced service provider of construction and engineering solutions to the offshore energy construction and operating industries, have successfully completed the grouting operations which formed part of the installation of a tidal gauge in the Wash, south of Skegness, UK.

The grout, a custom design, was mixed and pumped using FoundOcean’s recirculating jet mixer to form a secure connection between the gauge’s monopile foundation and transition piece.

The tidal gauge will provide accurate tidal information used for a number of purposes, including tidal analysis and prediction, oceanographic research, coastal defence and storm surge warning systems.

It is one of a number of projects FoundOcean has successfully undertaken using skills transferred from the offshore energy construction industry, including the parbuckling of the Costa Concordia in 2014.

"FoundOcean is an experienced offshore subcontractor with extensive experience in adapting to meet the needs of its clients. Its innovative and adaptable nature make it the perfect choice for projects of this kind," comments FoundOcean sales director Andy Venn.
