Scoring 1.0, the HABERO engineers’ hammer with the patented ROTBAND-Plus safety system came out top in the 300g class. In this system, the hammer head and shaft are positively and safely joined into a unit by means of a screw-fastened locking plate. As an added safety feature, a hardened steel protective shaft sleeve prevents the shaft from being damaged when the hammer misses its target.

The engineers’ hammers were subjected to rigorous scrutiny in the tests, which were run in conjunction with the Test and Inspection Institute in Remscheid. The results clearly demonstrate that hammers are not all the same. Important test criteria included the workmanship, material hardness, wedging and identification.

The HABERO hammer also performed well in the 500g class, achieving a “recommended” rating (Score 1.1). In this weight class, a DIN hammer must be capable of supporting at least 600kg before the head comes off the shaft. Tested to around 2,500kg, a HABERO ROTBAND-Plus hammer exceeds this benchmark by many times.
