Established in 1998 Germanischer Lloyd Oil and Gas GmbH (GLO) was an integral part of GL Industrial Services where Germanischer Lloyd (GL) focuses its know-how on the fields of oil and gas, wind energy, materials and failure analysis, fire protection, civil engineering and certification of management systems.

Within the reorganisation of the Industrial Services of Germanischer Lloyd, Germanischer Lloyd Oil and Gas GmbH was merged into Germanischer Lloyd Industrial Services GmbH. The business of Germanischer Lloyd Oil and Gas GmbH has been taken over by Germanischer Lloyd Industrial Services GmbH completely and will be carried on in future on a constant high quality level.

The single mission of GLO is to add value to clients' projects by protecting their financial investment, safeguarding human life and preserving the environment.

With its technical and financial independence guaranteed by a Technical Advisory Committee and Articles of Association, GL is authorised by German authorities and numerous foreign governments to certify the safety of technical products and installations. GL is a member of IACS.

The scope of service provided by Germanischer Lloyd Oil and Gas (GLO) covers every aspect of testing and certification from the planning, design assessment, fabrication, installation and commissioning, to the shutting down and decommissioning of on- and offshore oil, gas and other industrial facilities to enhance customers net present value.

Since companies participating in such projects frequently come from a variety of countries, international safety standards and specific requirements have to be integrated and synchronised.

In all our activities the focus in mineralizing the risk by proper safeguarding the health and safety of human life, protecting the environment and securing the investment a customer has made.
