Hytorc - Square-Drive Tools, Flange Systems, Hexagon Washers and Mechanical Tensioners

Incorrect bolt loads cause the most accidents, unscheduled down-times and 81% of all gasket failures at industrial plants; so much so that more productivity is lost in bolting time than in actual maintenance time. Hytorc have developed a range of products that prevent such problems.

HYTORC'S CALIBRATED TORQUE / TENSION TOOL

Failure-free joints require calibrated torque / tension tools, and Hytorc have developed a unique calibrated bolt-load.

Joint parallelism requires the application of at least one Hytorc calibrated torque / tension tool on every mechanical section with five to eight bolts. It also requires the simultaneous tightening of all engaged fasteners, which can only be achieved through Hytorc's click-on, hands-free and backup-free tools.

You also require a bolt-load calibrated Hytorc torque / tension tool to achieve even circumferential bolt-load (within 10%). That requires:

• A hardened washer underneath the nut to control its facial friction
• A low friction nut-thread lubricant to reduce the usual nut-turning friction and scatter
• A washer engineered to regenerate the reduced nut-turning friction, to avoid inadvertent nut-loosening
• A tool to simultaneously turn the nut and hold the washer stationary
• A washer that stops the bolt from turning with the nut
• A tool with no external reaction of reaction-arms, backup wrenches and tensioning bridges
• A tool to avoid the usual side-load or over-pull

With Hytorc's calibrated torque / tension tools, it is possible to have leak-free start-up, hands-free, evenly inverted remote-controlled bolting, which provides 50% bolting-time savings.

Hytorc's calibrated torque / tension tools provide 360° tool adjustment around the fastener, and are elongation measurement free.

SIMULTORC FLANGE SYSTEM

The Simultorc flange system ensures tight, leak-free flanges. At least one Simultorc flange system on every section with five to eight bolts provides parallel joint closure, because the nut retains the load.

TORQUE AND LOAD-CALIBRATED SQUARE-DRIVE TOOLS

Avanti torque and load calibrated square-drive tools (½in to 3½in) cover surface tension from 170N/m to 115,000N/m. They allow a bolt to be stretched to the desired load hands-free and evenly inverted, and have ±3% torque-output accuracy and a final bolt-load accuracy of ±5% to ±10%.

The CTS / Stealth is a unique five-in-one bolting tool: a twin-speed, load-calibrated, low clearance, ratchet-link torque-tension machine with universal fit, which covers 180N/m to 95,000N/m surface tension. The CTS / Stealth quickly stretches a bolt to the desired load with its twin-speed, slimline machine.

THE HEXAGON WASHER LOADISC

The LoaDISC hexagon washer does what a backup wrench does: stops the bolt from turning. However, it also creates a known facial friction, and eliminates side-load. The LoaDISC has been independently tested, and subsequently certified to provide the most accurate bolt-elongation or load, by Lloyd Register, BASF AG and the Wood Group.

THE CLAMP MECHANICAL TENSIONER

The CLAMP is the first mechanical tensioner that permits accurate bolt-load setting without diverting to torque or pulling force. The CLAMP consists of a washer and a nut, connected to an inner sleeve that is attached to the bolt end.

The inner sleeve is held stationary by the tool that turns the nut, and is pulled up, along with the bolt, torsion and side-load free.

The CLAMP is ISO, TÜV and pressure-vessel certified.

JGUN TENSION-GUN
