Subsea recruitment

RIS is seeking committed subsea professionals who could maximise their skills and opportunities for success through training and professional development within our organisation. We are looking for candidates with the following experience:

• A minimum of 15 years’ experience in the offshore oil and gas industry with five years as a senior lead SSE on-board fifth-generation DP drilling vessels
• Familiar and competent with all the skill sets required to maintain and operate the well control equipment of this vessel type
• Full awareness of other MODUs such as harsh environment semisubmersible drilling units, mid-water semis, high-specification and lower-end jack-ups and a full comprehension of the well control equipment associated with these installations

Preference will be given to applicants who can supplement the above with some formal trade certificate with a mechanical background. Successful candidates are required to undergo a comprehensive UKOOA medical prior to being accepted for employment.

Rig condition surveys

Rig condition surveys are comprehensive reliability assessments that include the evaluation of equipment and systems, recording of all parameters and technical data on equipment condition evaluation datasheets. Relevant standards such as the API, IADC and OEM specifications are referenced. The areas of assessment include, but are not limited to:

Subsea and surface well control equipment

RIS’ subsea and surface well control equipment services involves examining and analysing critical well control equipment, as well as identifying, assessing and developing control measures to mitigate the risks of hazardous situations and business interruptions. Areas of assessment for subsea and well control equipment services include, but are not limited to:

• First to sixth generation well control systems
• Hydraulic and Mux control systems
• Wireline / inline tensioning and RAR systems
• Compensating systems – CMC, AHC and DSC
• Marine riser inspection and verification
• Choke and kill systems

Lifting / pre-load out and OCTG

RIS offers a quality assured lifting and lifted equipment inspection division. Since inception, RIS has been a NATA-approved testing laboratory. Its NATA accreditations include:

• AS/NZS ISO/IEC 17020 Type A inspection body
• AS/NZS ISO/IEC 17025 Non-destructive testing

RIS’ lifting inspection service includes:

• Certified visual inspection of slings and rigging
• Certified visual inspection of baskets, containers and skids
• Certified visual inspections on new builds / modified s
• Non-destructive testing: magnetic particle inspection (MPI), liquid penetrant inspection (LPI) and eddy current testing (ET)
• Offshore inspection service; technician can travel to offshore facilities to perform inspection and testing services
• Pre-load Out QA inspections; final inspection prior to loading out to ensure equipment is fully compliant with the requirements of all Australian, international and client standards
• Management of the repair and recertification process, including organising third party contractors to perform works onsite
• Database to track inspected equipment
