Toprope Attends Launch of DCD-Dorbyl Marine’s A-Berth Facility

Toprope attended the launch of DCD-Dorbyl Marine's upgraded A-berth facility in the Cape Town Harbour last Friday.

Toprope provides specialist rope access services to DCD-Dorbyl Marine. With IRATA, ISO 9001:2008 and many class society accreditations, Toprope is a leading provider of inspection and maintenance services to the oil and gas Industry.

The upgraded facility will provide Cape Town with a world-class multidisciplinary engineering, repair and refurbishment hub for the African oil and gas industry.

The upgrade included a 350t permanent crawler crane at A-berth, in addition to mobile cranes ranging in capacity from 16t to 800t.

The quay now measures 275m and allows berthing of vessels with a draft of up to 12m.

The refurbishment also includes a new laydown area of 42,700m², a warehouse facility of 2,760m², office space of 1,000m² and a medical facility.

The 18th Africa Oil Week was being held nearby at the V&A Waterfront while the launch took place.
