Hubert Reilard, CEO of EFD Induction in India, is to address the fifth Handelsblatt Annual Conference to be held on December 4 at the Hotel Palace, Berlin. The theme of this year’s conference is India, and the prospects and potential for extending German-Indian trade relations. The conference is presented by Handelsblatt, Germany’s leading business newspaper.

“It’s an honor to address such a gathering,” says Reilard. “The Handelsblatt Annual Conference is a highly respected forum for exchanging views and lessons with business leaders. And the theme is especially relevant because of the election earlier this year of a new government in India.”

Reilard’s presentation reports on lessons learned from the success of EFD Induction in India. According to Reilard, such lessons include the need to fully understand local market conditions, and to involve and learn from local personnel.

“India is brimming with talented, qualified, hardworking people. Foreign investors must move beyond seeing India as merely a low-cost ‘extended workbench’.”

Sudhir Vyas, India’s ambassador to Germany, is scheduled to address the conference. Other speakers include Wilbur Aulbur, CEO of Mercedes-Benz India, and Bernhard Steinrücke of the German-Indian Chamber of Commerce, India.

EFD Induction in India opened its manufacturing facility in Bangalore in 1995, and currently employs 114. The company produces industrial induction heating equipment for Indian and ASEAN markets, and supplies electrical and mechanical assemblies to EFD Induction Group companies.
