Fluoro-polymers such as PTFE, ECTFE and PFA offer outstanding chemical and high temperature resistance, making them especially appropriate for a wide range of chemical and mineral processing applications. Other inherent properties of these materials include low surface tension and non-stick characteristics that help to prevent scale build-up.

Fluoro-polymer lined pipe systems and flanges

Fluoro Pacific offers pipe with seamless PTFE lining. Interference fit to the metal work eliminates thermal fatigue, extending the life of the pipe. The PTFE is formed over the flange face for excellent sealing.

Wrapped piping is also available in FRP thermoplastic dual laminate. It is lightweight and cost effective. Pipe supports from Fluoro Pacific are injection moulded, maintenance free, require no paint, and offer excellent corrosion resistance.

The company’s flange covers / spray shields are made with non-porous PTFE and offer protection against harmful spray out and leakage. Its spill control bags provide universal chemical resistance.

Steam sparge pipes are also available with custom bends to suit difficult applications. Thick walls are available to overcome erosion, with the pipes offering excellent chemical resistance at high concentrations and up to 250ºC.

Our interlocking backing flanges that are resistant to environmental corrosion are ideal for thermoplastic or FRP pipe systems, and are simple to install without the need to cut pipes. The company's pipe slide bearings are lowest friction, anti-static and weatherproof. They can be custom designed, bonded or mechanically fixed.

PTFE bellows / compensators

Machined bellows and membrane type compensators are designed by Fluoro Pacific for pressure or vacuum applications. They offer excellent chemical resistance and are lightweight. Membranes for low pressure FRP pipe are available to +1,000NB. Applications include:

• Thermo-formed PTFE compensators are used to compensate for lateral and angular movements
• Compensation for axial thermal expansion and contraction
• Noise and vibration absorption

Membrane liners using PTFE

Drop-in liners using membrane PTFE eliminate corrosion concerns in existing tanks.

Fluoro Pacific can fabricate membrane liners to any shape or size to avoid the costs of replacing tanks. Liners resist tearing and stress cracking and can be used in tanks or launders.

Duct / pipe liners are available in lightweight membranes of any diameter and serve as cost effective drop-in liners on-site. No crane is needed for installation and these liners offer excellent chemical resistance and resistance to temperatures up to 250ºC.

Fluoro-polymer engineering

The wealth of fluoro-polymer experience at Fluoro Pacific allows us to help customers with fluoro-polymer engineering projects. We are frequently called on to provide solutions to extreme applications using the entire range of fluoro-polymers. Solutions provided can be in many forms such as material selection, concept design, detail design, manufacturing / fabrication and project management.

Fluoro Pacific engineering has been involved in the specification of materials for, and then project management of, the construction of a chlorine gas scrubber with components made from PTFE, ECTFE and ECTFE / FRP dual laminate. We have also supplied specialised nozzles and mixer heads. Other specialised items - such as dam gates made from fabricated / welded PTFE, heat formed and mounted on a stainless frame - and lined pipe applications have been provided.

PTFE compound parts

Fluoro Pacific can offer case studies of proven successful application of Fluoro Pacific materials when correctly specified for the application. In these applications specially designed PTFE compounds can outperform standard PTFE compounds, extending life and saving costs. These include:

Fluoro-polymer materials

Fluoro Pacific can supply fluoro-polymer materials in a wide range of stock shapes and fabricated shapes. PTFE, FEP and PFA have the higher maximum temperature and better chemical resistance. However, ECTFE and PCTFE have higher mechanical properties.
