Fiberglass piping materials

Pipe Specialties Canada holds the exclusive Canadian distribution rights for Ameron's Fiberglass Composite Pipe Group - the world's largest manufacturer of fiberglass piping materials. We provide design assistance, installation training, spool fabrication and proof-testing, and installation services throughout the world. 

The excellent corrosion and abrasion-resistant properties of our products makes them ideal for applications including hot acids, buried district heating, hot salt brine, saltwater, flue gas, slurries, and buried fuel handling, among others. The exceptional lightweight, easy and fast installation, and corrosion / abrasion resistance make these systems a viable and lower cost alternative to other materials.

Glassfiber reinforced epoxy (GRE) pipes and fittings

We are the Canadian distributor of Bondstrand® GRE, which is type-approved by all of the major classification societies to IMO Level 3 for platform and shipboard applications.It has been specified for use on UK Royal Naval vessels (Type 45 destroyers, wave knight, and titanium hull submarines), oil and gas production platforms, drilling rigs, and FPSOs.

The fact that we do spool fabrication allows us to provide that service worldwide. We have supplied packages for companies such as Petrobras, Hibernia, White Rose, Terra Nova, Holland-America and Marathon.

GRE pipe systems for marine applications

Pipe Specialties offers Bondstrand 2000M/7000M GRE pipe systems for marine applications with external pressure requirements.

• Maximum operating temperature: up to 121°C
• Pipe diameter: 1in-40in (25mm-1,000mm)
• Pipe system design for pressure ratings up to 16bar
• ASTM D-2992 hydrostatic design basis (Procedure B - service factor 0.5)
• ASTM D-1599 safety factor of 4:1

Design criteria for external pressure requirements are in accordance with IMO regulations.

Fire-resistant fiberglass pipe and fittings

Pipe Specialties provides Bondstrand Series 2000M-FP fire-resistant fiberglass pipe and fittings for firewater systems on offshore platforms and offshore installations subject to hydrocarbon fires.

Series 2000M-FP is a fiberglass-reinforced epoxy resin piping system intended primarily for wet and dry deluge systems where excellent corrosion resistance is a necessity and low weight is desired.

Series 2000M-FP features a thick intumescent coating applied at the factory to the exterior of Series 2000M pipe and fittings. When exposed to fire, the coating expands to form an incombustible foam char that protects and insulates the piping. The intumescent coating is available in 5mm and 8mm thicknesses.
