WELD PIPE CLADDING

Proclad International is a worldwide market and technological leader in the protective weld cladding of pipeline components and is licensed under API specification 5LD for the processing of clad steel pipe. There are only a minority of companies worldwide to have achieved this accreditation with Proclad being the second.

The automated protective clad pipe surfacing systems apply high integrity corrosion resistant alloys, including Inconel 625 and 825, Alloy C276 and C22, 300 and 400 series stainless steels. This is to a variety of substrates such as carbon manganese, low alloy, martensitic and ferric stainless steels in sizes from 2in (50mm) and above, and wall thickness of 0.25in (6mm) and above.

This process is proved to significantly enhance the service life of new components and can also be used to refurbish and upgrade components that have already been in service. Cladding material types and thicknesses can be selected to meet the service environment. Every component part of a pipeline system can be clad.

INDUCTION BENDING: CLAD PIPES AND UNCLAD PIPES

Proclad Induction Bending (formerly Induction Bending Services Ltd.) has greatly increased capacity for induction pipe bends both clad and unclad. Bends can now be offered in size range from 2in to 42in on four induction pipe benders at our new 30,000ft² Glenrothes facility which also incorporates machining, inspection, testing and shot blasting capabilities.

As the process does not require any sand fillings or internal mandrels, and the induction coil is not in contact with the pipe, a high quality surface finish is produced that is better than cold or fire bending. There is also controlled ovality and reduced thinning.

The bend radius can be infinitely variable from 3D centre line up to a maximum of 14m. Wall thickness of Schedule 10 up to 100mm thick can be processed with no machine tool alterations. In some cases, multiple and compound bends can be produced from a single length of straight tube without the need for butt-welding. The elimination of welded or mechanical joints greatly increases the integrity of the finished pipework.

FORGING FOR CLAD PIPE FITTINGS

Proclad International Forging is a specialist manufacturer of clad pipe fittings inclusing: forged elbows, tees, reducers and caps, as well as special fittings such as lateral tees, extruded manifolds, guide bar, sphere tees, high pressure manifold fittings, open-die hot-forged bends and forged high pressure assemblies. The materials used include high yield steels in X52-X70, alloy steels, austenitic stainless steels, duplex steels, super duplex steels, clad steels, alloy 625 and alloy 825.Its size range is 2in up to 42in. diameter and wall thickness up to 125mm.

CLAD PIPES, FLANGES AND FITTING

Proclad International Pipelines is a comprehensive stockist of steel pipe, flanges, fittings and other pipeline supplies and has a high level of technical and market expertise. Proclad is a major European stockist of high yield duplex, super duplex and stainless steel materials from size range 0.5in NB to 24in NB.

SPOOL FABRICATION

Proclad offers full engineering design capability with highly experienced fabricators / welders. Clean area for duplex and super duplex fabrications with capacity up to 10t.

HEAT TREATMENT FOR CLAD PIPES

A large investment has been made in a state of the art 30,000ft² plant in Glenrothes, Fife to provide the only sub-contract heat treatment facility in Scotland. Proclad heat treatment comprises;

• Charger loaded batch furnaces, 10t capacity (load dimensions 2,400 x 1,500 x 5,000 long)
• Top hat furnace, 15t capacity (load dimensions 6,500 x 3,500 x 1,500 high)
• Water quench tank (dimensions 2,400 x 1,500 x 5,000 long), water agitated by four off 2kw pumps with closed loop cooling system. Water temperature maintained between 15º and 30ºC at all times
• Material hardness testing equipment, two calibrated Foundrax Portable King Brinell to HBW10/3000 hardness readings recorded on Foundrax Brintronic laptop
