ZOK - Gas Turbine Compressor Cleaners, ZOK27 and ZOKmx

ZOK International Group manufactures and distributes gas turbine compressor cleaners, ZOK27 and ZOKmx, both of which are aqueous based, biodegradable and available in concentrate and ready-to-use form for use in the marine, aerospace, offshore, oil and gas, and power generation industries.

A combination of factors – namely, global economic slowdown, overcapacity, environmental pressures, and the changing shape of ownership, has created a variety of differing pressure on the oil and gas and offshore industries. One of these being cost, which in can result in the cleaning of gas turbines through the use of specialised cleaners such as ZOK 27 and ZOKmx being reduced and in some cases eliminated. While this approach may save in the short term it is our view and experience the risk of shutdowns will become more and more frequent, incurring huge financial losses in terms of lost production and maintenance costs.

COMPRESSOR CLEANERS

ZOK27 - WATER BASED COMPRESSOR CLEANING FLUID

ZOK offers two on-line/offline, water-based compressor cleaning fluids: ZOK27 and ZOKmx. Although complementary, they are individual strengths. ZOK27 has been formulated to provide proven inhibition ability .You don't have to rinse the engine and you don't dry it out. You just leave it wet, and provide inhibition on the blades. This enables you to start the engine at a few minutes' notice, as is required in emergencies.

ZOKMX - ORGANIC AND INORGANIC FOUL REMOVAL

ZOKmx was formulated to be a stronger, faster cleaner. ZOKmx removes both organic and inorganic fouling, even during on-line washing when contact time between the fluid and the compressor blades is minimal.

Although the oil and gas and offshore industries have not realised the full benefits of cleaning fluids, ZOK are confident that this will change, as greater understanding permeates the industry.

WATER VERSUS SOLVENT

ZOK's policy has always been 'green clean'. Both its products are water-based, biodegradable, ecologically sound and suitable for use in particularly sensitive environments.

Solvent-based cleaning fluids, on the other hand, are problematic. ZOK does not go down the solvent route for several reasons. Health and safety is one, and also over time, they will work on the seals in the engine, hardening any sort of rubber material. If you use them on-line, there is always a chance that you could over fuel the engine, which can be disastrous.

ZOK's policy will remain green for the long term, while trying to formulate the most efficient cleaning substances that we can without using hydrocarbons.
