Welltrain specialises in the design and delivery of operationally relevant courses to the oil and gas industry to enable the development of genuine competency skills for drilling professionals.
Welltrain courses provide a thorough grounding in both the theoretical and practical aspects of well control for drilling and well servicing operations.
To ensure all attendees get appropriate access to experienced trainers who can provide practical in-depth coaching, we utilise two instructors to teach each course. All our instructors have a balance of training and industry experience.
Welltrain provides a broad range of skills-based training in drilling, completion, workover and well services. Delivered by experienced industry trainers, our focus is to enhance job skills and performance. Welltrain provides both off-the-shelf scheduled public courses and unscheduled tailor-made training solutions, ranging from stuck-pipe prevention to well control.
All our public courses can be tailored for delivery in-house at a location and time that suits you.
Company-specific and customised in-house courses such as advanced well control, training to reduce unscheduled events (TRUE), stuck-pipe prevention, HPHT, Drill Well On Simulator (DWOS) and management of drilling problems are aimed at enhancing the knowledge of the professional drilling and engineering staff of the client companies.
This unscheduled training can be tailored for delivery in our classroom or yours; or be taken to the rig-site with access to portable simulators to enable practical coaching in a safe environment.
We specialise in IWCF-accredited drilling well control and well intervention pressure control training for skilled drillers and experienced supervisors.
Personnel with many years of industry experience benefit from flexible course options including the option to complete a shorter refresher course, or request examination only options to update IWCF certification standards.
Our five-day training course in surface and subsea-drilling well control is designed for personnel involved in drilling / workover operations, including drilling superintendents, drilling engineers, drilling supervisors, toolpushers and offshore installation managers (OIMs).
It provides the knowledge, understanding and practical skills necessary to apply safe well control practices in surface and subsea installations, and prepares candidates for IWCF examinations.
The five-day full well-intervention pressure control course is designed for personnel who have a role in the operation, supervision or planning of well intervention (well servicing) activities including completions, coiled tubing, wireline or snubbing (hydraulic work over).
This theoretical and practical course provides candidates with an understanding of pressure control methods related to well servicing methods, and prepares candidates for IWCF examinations.
Welltrain provides introduction to well control training at two levels. The one day course is aimed at first timers; the three day course is designed for personnel from the coal seam gas (CSG) industry who are unfamiliar with drilling and workover.
The introductory training gives potential well control certification candidates awareness of well control theory, practices and equipment using a blend of training featuring a drilling simulator and classroom theory / exercises. The objective is to prepare candidates for a full well control school by providing basic introduction to well control issues.
