Fantoft has been awarded the contract for supply of the Snøhvit Dynamic Production Model (DPM) to the operator Statoil.
“Statoil’s requirement for a best-in-class dynamic production model fits perfect with our D-SPICE Pipeline Management System”, informs Mr Spilling from Fantoft HQ. “The online DPM will support the daily operation of the complex Snøhvit multiphase pipeline, e.g. calculation of the probability for pipeline leakage, monitoring of the risk for hydrate formation and liquid accumulation”.
The production from the Snøhvit subsea fields, including Snøhvit, Albatross and Askeladden, will be transported throughout a 150 km long pipeline to the onshore LNG plant located near the city of Hammerfest in the Northern Norway. The production pipeline will transport unprocessed gas, condensate and water (multiphase flow).
To prevent formation of hydrate in the production pipeline, MEG (glycol) is continuously injected at the subsea wellheads. The MEG is regenerated in the onshore plant before injected again.
Produced CO2 is removed in the process plant and transported through a 150 km pipeline and injected in the reservoir.
DPM model:
* Subsea wells, various valves, flow-lines as well as CO2 and MEG injection
* Multiphase pipeline from subsea fields to onshore LNG plant (150 km)
* Onshore inlet facilities including slug catcher etc
* CO2 injection pipeline from onshore plant to subsea (150 km)
* MEG injection pipeline from onshore plant to subsea (150 km)
DPM system modes:
* Real-time Mode (window-into-the-pipeline)
* Look-ahead Mode (prediction into the future)
* Offline Mode (planning and training)
DPM applications:
* Leak Detection for production, MEG and CO2 pipelines
* Hydrate Formation Margin Monitoring
* Pig Tracking
* Automatic Model Tuning
DPM system integration:
* Data exchange with subsea and onshore control systems (ABB)
* Data validation and replacement
* Human-Machine-Interface (HMI) for operators and supervisors.
As a part of the D-SPICE installation there will be a seamless integration of a multiphase flow model of the production pipeline, covered in either OLGA 2000 or PeTra.
Earlier this year Fantoft also won the contract for delivery of Engineering and Operator Training Simulator for Snøhvit LNG plant. The D-SPICE lifecycle modelling and simulation technology is utilised.
