Multiphase Solutions, Inc. Awarded Contract to Deliver Pipeline Management System for Ras Gas LNG Expansion Project

Multiphase Solutions, Inc. (MSi) of Houston, TX has recently been awarded the contract to deliver its field proven Virtual Pipeline Manager™ (VPM) system for the Ras Gas LNG Company Ltd. (Ras Gas) Expansion Project in Qatar. The award was made by Chiyoda Corporation of Yokohama, Japan, on behalf of the joint venture of Chiyoda-Mitsuii-Snamprogetti (CMS), as the EPC contractor.
For the Ras Gas project, MSi will provide the full engineering and software systems services to deliver and install a fit-for-purpose VPM package that provides real-time, on-line monitoring, fast forecasting, and off-line trainer/simulation functionalities. The VPM package will be used by Ras Gas in the day-to-day management of operations and planning for their new complex multiphase (gas, water and condensate) production pipeline network. Ras Gas is currently undertaking an extensive expansion of the Qatar facility, which when finished, will be the biggest LNG processing facility in the world.
The new Virtual Pipeline Manager™ package will be the second system that MSi has installed for Ras Gas. This package follows the successful installation and delivery of a similar package in 1997 for the original two-phase (gas/condensate) trunkline that fed the first two LNG trains.
