Coming on the heels of successful installations and recent awards for several high-profile projects worldwide, Multiphase Solutions, Inc. (MSi) of Houston, TX, recently kicked-off another project to deliver its field-proven, real-time, on-line pipeline management system for a high-demand multiphase gathering operations.
MSi’s Virtual Pipeline Manager™ (VPM) package will be installed to help manage the world’s longest offshore multiphase pipeline, originating some 370 kilometers offshore. This is part of a multi-billion dollar gas to power project. This time it is in the Asia Pacific, where the package will be used to provide fit-for-purpose, real-time, on-line monitoring, liquids production management, fast forecasting, and off-line trainer/planner functionalities. The system will provide on-line management and optimization of operations addressing a myriad of issues including gas starvation and deliverability issues since the pipeline feeds a high demand gas-fired electric plant. The package will be used by the client in day-to-day management of operations, planning for the new multiphase production network and for operator training.
