Hayward Tyler - Submersible Motors and Pumps and Subsea Motors

When you consider a Seawater Lift (SWL) Pump, Firewater Pump (FWP) or subsea motor unit from Hayward Tyler you are benefiting from highly engineered designs. A true understanding of the industry, born out of applications knowledge and long service in the oil and gas industry, makes Hayward Tyler the submersible and subsea motor and pump partner for you.

  • Hayward Tyler developed the first submersible motor in 1908 based upon customised development, design and manufacture
  • Custom industries include: offshore and subsea processing
  • Units are available in a range of materials, including: super duplex stainless steel, nickel aluminium bronze (NiAlBrz) and similar materials

SEAWATER LIFT AND FIREWATER PUMPS

Hayward Tyler's motors range from 30kW to 5,500kW. The submersible motor-driven pumps provide cooling water for offshore platforms. Submersible motor-driven firewater pumps, when auto started during an emergency situation, supply the firewater main. Applications include:

  • FPSO
  • Production platforms
  • Seawater lift pumps
  • Firewater pumps

ADVANTAGES OF SUBMERSIBLE MOTOR DRIVEN SEAWATER PUMPS OVER LINE SHAFT UNITS

  • Weight: the total weight of a submersible pump is significantly less
  • Space: the footprint and vertical space is considerably smaller
  • Noise: the submersible pump generates minimum noise
  • Vibration: a submersible installation negates structural installation concerns
  • Utilities: only requires electrical power and anti-fouling system
  • Maintenance: minimal and routine compared with alternatives
  • Area classification: the fluid filled motor is installed in an intrinsically safe environment
  • Cost and ease of installation: the submersible is straightforward to install

ENGINEERED SUBSEA MOTORS

Hayward Tyler's engineered, high voltage, high pressure motors are fluid filled for reliability and are used in the following applications:

  • Subsea separation
  • Water injection
  • Boosting
  • Exploration
  • Drilling
  • Multiphase

Subsea processing requires subsea motors for the above tasks at all stages of well development.

SUBMERSIBLE GENERATORS

The Hayward Tyler induction generator is utilised in tidal power generation and can also be installed in riverbeds for renewable energy.
