The new compact, user-friendly Ultrabar 10E ultra-high pressure Zone 2 offshore pump unit, designed specifically for the offshore water jetting and UHP surface preparation markets where space and water usage are at a premium, is now available from Hughes Pumps, the UK-based market-leading manufacturer of high-pressure water jetting equipment since 1970.
Ultrabar 10E is one of the most compact UHP units on the market, measuring 1.8m by 1m wide x 1.5m high and weighing 1,100kg. It is designed for spot blasting, beams and general surface preparation and, with a gun reaction force of less than 7kg (15 lb), is ideal for where access is difficult such as reaching behind pipe work.
ATEX compliant, the Ultrabar 10E UHP water-jetting unit develops 8.8l/min at 2,100bar, is Zone 1 or 2 EEx nA T3 electric-motor driven and suitable for use from a 63A socket. The Ultrabar 10E is mounted in a compact EN12079/DNV 2.7-1 offshore crash frame.
Joergen Borgtoft, managing director of High Jet Technologies, Denmark, says: "We use Hughes Ultrabar 10 UHP units for offshore coatings removal and have found this model the most suited to this harsh environment out of all other manufacturers pumps we have tried in the past. Its performance and ease of maintenance made it the first choice, and with the back up from Hughes we have never lost any time through equipment down time.”
Hughes Pumps also provides fully certified and factory trained personnel to support their equipment packages, including rigsafe and ATEX compliance.
